Indecent Descent

Indecent Descent is my first book. Quite probably my last book, too. There's four episodes and 170,000 words which cover the key moments from the most ridiculous seven months in my life, beginning April 2013.

You can get it from Smashwords in a variety of formats for the princely sum of $0.99. It's also available on Kindle from Amazon - UK price is £0.77

Here's the back cover blurb:

After Jim unexpectedly ends up in bed with his teenage daughter’s best friend, he thinks his life’s over. Turns out, it’s just beginning.

A decade ago, Jim had it all. A thriving business, a beautiful wife and a bright, funny, confident daughter: Kiera. But when a tragic accident claimed his wife, Jim was forced to start over again; leaving everything behind to forge a new life and help his little girl overcome their loss.

That new life was tough for Jim: a single parent with no social life, still haunted by his own grief. But it was worth it. Because with the help of eight-year-old Kiera’s new friend Jadie – the bubbly, caring, girl next door – Jim saw his fragile daughter gradually regain her lust for life.

Now, ten years on, Kiera and Jadie are happy, clever, forward-thinking girls; eighteen years old and ready for anything the world can throw at them. Oh, and they’re both heartbreakingly beautiful, too.

But things are about to get complicated. Very complicated. Because, for the first time in a decade, Jim’s personal life – yeah, okay, his sex life – actually consists of more than just an internet connection and a box of tissues.

And Jadie’s somehow become a whole lot more than his daughter’s best friend…

This is the true story of Jim’s descent from respectable, devoted, loving father to morally-bankrupt, teen-deflowering reprobate. Sexy, funny and emotional – often all at once – it’s an unlikely love-story; a tale of one man’s battle with his heart, his conscience and his dick, in the face of the most filthily uninhibited sex he’s ever had.

  1. Found this on smashwords and its the most fun I've had for a dollar anywhere. Episode 1 was awesome, episode 2 wasn’t quite there but still good, 3 was too long but had some great moments and the thing with Jess and Jadie was very very hot. Then episode 4 was all a bit unbelievable and frustrating until that final scene with Jadie which was honestly about the hottest sexiest thing I have ever read anywhere. You have to write more like this. I don’t care if it’s true you can just make it up but just write more.

    1. Glad you had fun with it. If enough people seem interested then I might end up writing some more. We'll have to see. Cheers!

  2. Good read. I like my girl skinny and shaved but I still think jadie’s hot. I want more on jess the little princess though. Her and jadie together that was so fucking sexy.

    1. Thanks. Listening to Jadie tell me that story about Jess was really awkward. It was so hot listening to her, but I was so guilty for getting turned on by it. If I do write any more, there's a couple of other stories about Jess I've heard which I might include. Cheers!

  3. This book messed with my head. I should have hated it. It’s long, there’s a lot of dialogue, lots of clichés and and there aren’t really any plot twists. But I didn’t hate it. I loved it. I just had to keep turning the page even with all the dialogue because the characters are funny, engaging, likeable and sexy. They seem real too. I smiled a lot, reading this book. I laughed out loud a few times. And I had a hard-on pretty much the whole way through. Thanks.

    1. It is a bit of a soap opera, really. It was never written as a book to start with, just an account of the crazy shit that's happened. If it made you smile, that's good because making people smile was what publishing it was all about. Cheers!

  5. Hi Jim, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this story. It’s really well written and I enjoyed it a lot. I know you said you wouldn’t be writing any more but I’d love to know what you and Jadie got up to after the events you describe. From what you wrote on your Smashwords bio it sounds like you had some fun at Christmas. Would love to know more!

    1. Thanks Thom. If there's a lot of people interested then I might write a bit more. I don't know yet. And yeah, Christmas was mental; I've got more than enough material for a 'Christmas Special' I reckon.

  7. Thanks Piotr. Glad you enjoyed it. I've just made another post about whether I'm going to write any more, which should explain the situation. Cheers!

  8. The first episode is awesome; it's really well paced, it teases nicely and you get a real sense of who the characters are so when they do end up getting it on it feels much more involving. The other episodes are all a bit long, with probably more random conversation stuff than there needs to be but still overall they make for a really enjoyable and fun read. I much prefer erotic stories that take the time to build the back story and involve emotions as well as just the mechanics of sex and there's a whole lot of that extra stuff here. To be fair even the random conversations help with that and they are quite funny sometimes although they can hint at things which you think might happen and then they don't which can be a bit disappointing. If you write any more I will definitely buy it though especially if it's as cheap as this one was!

    1. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. I do include a lot of detail - it's the OCD in me - which probably means everything is a lot longer than it needs to be. I think that's just part of the process for me, at least it was when I wrote Indecent Descent, you know to be able to capture every last detail so I didn't forget anything about how amazing it all was.

I've decided I will be doing another couple of episodes, which will probably be just as long and winding, but there's stuff which happened last Christmas (and since then) which goes a lot further than anything in Indecent Descent so hopefully there will be a bit less disappointment. Cheers!

  9. You asked for feedback so here's mine.

I bought this a while ago and have only just got round to reading it all the way through. It's definitely not your typical quick fix erotic fiction. I like the whole confessional style and the way it's written as a true story (if it really is true then you're a very lucky bloke indeed) although this does mean that there are a few things, especially later on in the story, which leave the reader hanging.

For example the scene with Madison in the last chapter - that didn't really work as part of the story because although it made sense that you wouldn't take advantage because you're a decent chap and all that, you had set things up so the reader expected you to fuck her and it was a bit of a let down when you didn't. Also the whole mother/daughter thing with her as well, that didn't go anywhere and that would have been a really interesting scene to pursue. If you wanted to keep to the whole true story thing then you could have written some of these other scenes as fantasies within the story.

Also, the way you introduce Kiera right at the start and the fact that she appears throughout the story means that the reader expects there to be a sexual angle with her. I don't mean like an incest thing, but your description of her makes her sound really beautiful yet we don't get to see her in any kind of sex at all. Again, I know that fits with the true story thing and her being your daughter you wouldn't include that kind of thing but maybe it would have been better not to describe her so much at the start and then the reader wouldn't expect it.

I still thought that the whole thing was an enjoyable read and you have an engaging writing style which makes it all kind of flow together and allows the reader to form an attachment with you and the other characters. I love the way you introduce Jadie in the first episode, especially the way she flits between confidence and shyness but also the way you weave in her intelligence and sense of humour. She's very sexy but also really likeable as a character too. And then the development of your relationship with her from that first unexpected tryst to something more serious is described well, although it does take the story away from erotic fiction and more into romance which doesn't really fit with your pornographic sex scenes (which are really well-done, by the way).

I would like to read more of your work and as a new author I think you have real potential.

    1. Wow. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a detailed response like that. I understand exactly what you're saying about the thing with Madison, but I was basically just telling it how it happened. The idea about mixing the fantasy with reality is an interesting one which I will think about - Jadie might find that quite fun as well, and I'm sure she'll be able to help out. However, I'm writing another couple of episodes now based on stuff which happened at Christmas and that is frankly so far into the realms of fantasy that I don't think I'll need to make anything up at all!

Your point about Kiera is fair. I do regret my description of her now; it was just the whole proud father thing I guess, because she's my beautiful daughter, I just kind of described her how I see her. It wasn't a sexual thing at all obviously but I didn't really think about what other people would then expect. A few people have asked me for more details about her which isn't really what I wanted!

Thanks again for taking the time and I hope you read and enjoy the next episodes when they come out.
