Deeper Down the Hole (Indecent Descent Episode Two)

This is the second episode from Indecent Descent. It's available for free from Smashwords or you can read it online at Short Fiction.

You really need to read Episode One before starting this one, or else you won't get the backstory and it won't make a lot of sense.

Episodes Three and Four, along with the relevant Intermissions and Epilogue, will not be published separately. You can find them in the book of the entire Indecent Descent story which is available from Smashwords or Amazon.

Here's the back cover blurb for Episode Two:

Jim’s done something bad. Very bad. The sort of bad that involves his teenage daughter’s best friend and the filthiest sex he’s ever had. Now, she wants to do it again. He does, too. But Jim’s scared that he’s falling for her, hard. Can he resist? Hell, no. Will he prematurely drop the L-bomb with unexpected results? Quite possibly. And then… could something bad actually become something good?

Jim’s life is complicated, right now.

It hasn’t always been that way. In fact, for a while it had been pretty simple. Until last Thursday, when he inexplicably ended up in bed with Jadie from next door. A girl who’s achingly pretty, fiercely intelligent and, oh, yeah, sixteen whole years younger than him. And who also just happens to be his daughter’s best friend. Oops.

That rainy afternoon, Jim learned more about eighteen-year-old girls than he ever imagined was possible. That they can switch between nervous shyness and louche confidence in seconds. That they can be dirty little voyeurs whilst revising for their A-Levels. That they can possess breasts of such impossible youthful perfection that Newton might just have been wrong about gravity after all. Oh, yeah, and that they can harbour a crush on their best friend’s dad for years without him ever realising.

He had a few preconceptions challenged about eighteen-year-old girls, too. They’re not all diet-conscious health-freaks. They don’t all shave themselves bald down below. They haven’t all lost their virginity years before. And they haven’t all been irreparably damaged by growing up with internet porn. In fact, for some of them – well, one in particular – easy access to all that online filth has been strangely… educational.

The thing is, we’re a week on now. And, despite being fully aware of how wrong it is, Jim’s completely fallen for Jadie. Badly. Like, head-over-heels badly. They’re meeting again and this time, it looks like it’s going to be a whole lot more than just a casual encounter for him. He’s got the shakes. Butterflies inside. However unlikely it may be, he’s pretty sure he’s in love again for the first time in a decade.

But what about Jadie? Is it all just a game for her? A bit of fun with an older guy? A silly schoolgirl crush? Or is she pursuing a deeper desire; a dream that she’s had for a lot longer than Jim could ever have known?

Deeper Down the Hole is the second episode from Indecent Descent; Jim’s engagingly open account of his guilt-ridden slide into moral turpitude. It follows on directly from One Rainy Afternoon – you really should read that one first – and details Jim’s second encounter with Jadie. Sometimes comic, occasionally romantic and always filthily, luridly explicit when it needs to be; it’s a story that will arouse you, amuse you and – quite possibly – enrage you in equal measure as you follow Jim's struggle to face up to what he’s done, what he’s doing, and what he still wants to do with his daughter’s best friend.

  1. Liked it especially the morning scene. Preferred the first episode though.

  2. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure I should have put this episode out separately as well. The way everything happened on that first day, it actually was a sort of self-contained 'story' on its own. After that, though, the events which made up the other episodes don't add up to any kind of story; it's just crazy shit which happened to me. Glad you liked the 'morning scene' though. I've definitely got a thing for mirrors now...

  3. Hi. Just wanted to say I read the first episode and then bought the book. This second episode is actually my favourite but I don't think it would make a lot of sense if you read it on its own. As part of the whole book though it works really well because its a transition. I think you really capture that thing of moving from lust into love and how that effects the sex and everything else. I enjoyed the conversations as much as the sex descriptions to be honest. I dont know if you intended it to come across this way but it's actually really romantic the way the two of you go from a platonic sort of relationship to one which is really intense and loving and erotic.

    1. Hi Paul. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I know what you mean about it being romantic. I guess it was intentional; I was just writing about the feelings I had at the time. Jadie's not the sort of girl who goes for the whole candlelit dinner thing but what we have together is a romance, really. It's just a bit of an unconventional one!
